Purrcast 29 Fatty

This has been Purrcast number 29 featuring Fatty.

Back when Purrcast first started Creative Commons was starting to become popular and it was pretty standard to announce your license type in the podcast. Creative Commons Attribution Noncommercial Share Alike 3.0 Unported Licence or even CC BY-NC-SA 3.0 US was a handful to say each week. Purrcast is still under that license so we encourage you to share it on a thumb drive, cut out the instrumental outros and make a mix for your friends newborn baby or use it to make your sweet electric motorcycle rumble the road. If you do something with Purrcast let me know and we can share alike!

If you like purring, please consider donating to patreon.com/purrcast and saying something nice about us on iTunes.

Purrcast 26 Rupert

This has been purrcast number twenty six, a mini episode featuring the outsized kitten purrs of rupert. Rupert was a purrcast foster from the Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter BARCS that has found his furever home with a friend of ours. Recording kittens is difficult, not because they aren’t full of purr but because they are wiggly, bitey and run around all the time.

On this National Cat day Purrcast welcomes our new listeners from the Nerdist and international listeners from Australia’s RN Creative Audio Unit.

If you like purring we have a patreon campaign at patreon.com/purrcast. Patreon pays for bandwidth for the podcast, treats for the cats and can has cheese burgers for the humans.

Thank you for listening to purrcast.

Purrcast 25 Momcat Lady Jean Grey Kranz

Thank you for listening to purrcast.

Purrcast 24 Pig

This has been purrcast number 24 showcasing the purring of Pig.

Purrcast would like to say hi to some friends. First up is the Amazing Acro-Cats, the trained cat show and rock band. Purrcast human producer Justin did sound for them in Baltimore and introduced to the high reward @tunathecat to specialty cooked chicken livers from Parts and Labor. The Amazing Acro-Cats helped raise money for the local shelters while visiting Baltimore as well as found new forever homes for the tour foster kittens. http://circuscats.com/

We would also like to give a meow out to the new cats in town The Purrrcast. The Purrrcast spelled with 3 R’s is a podcast about cats by the humans Sara Iyer and Steven Ray Morris. Every week they talk about cats with guest friends.  Look for them where ever you get podcasts.

If you like the cats purring, please consider patronage through patreon.com/purrcast. A few dollars a month buys many treats for the cats. The cats like treats and will purr making everyone happy. Do it for the kitties.

Thank you for listening to the original purrcast.

Purrcast 23 Fatty

Fatty Episode 20

This is Fatty’s morning feed me breakfast purr. The latest school of thought is that there is no canonical lexicon of cat meows, every cat has their own language with their owner that they both made up. It’s like a mutual training or an idioglossia, the language made up by twins. Fatty’s brother spoke with nuance of inflection and trills. Fatty has one word that he uses repeatedly until he gets what he wants. I think he learned to meow from listening to the cadence of the alarm clock. I sometimes try to push the snooze button on his head to make him stop in the mornings. Just like Simon’s Cat Wake Up

You can keep Fatty and the rest of purrcast flush with treats by supporting our patreon.com/purrcast campaign. Patreon is a service where you can be a patron of an artist by pledging money per month or per work. Purrcast loves all of our fans. Here is a meow-out to some of them: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZN2GcIBmEpU

Purrcast 21 Momcat Lady Jean Grey Kranz

This is the first audio feature with Momcat Lady Jean Grey Kranz. She came to purrcast with kittens as a foster named Marine which was shortened to just Momcat. Her kittens were easily adopted. We kept her for a little while longer to try and socialize her because we feared her very vocal growling and stubborn ways would get her returned by a timid adopter. A year later it became clear that we had “foster failed” and as a birthday present she was adopted and renamed.

The foster program jokingly called her a Chesapeake Blue because of her silver blue fur and lack of pedigree. Amy wanted to call her Jean Grey after the X-men character and I extended the name to Jean Grey Krantz after NASA flight director Gene Kranz. She still growls if you look at her wrong but the tough street cat has softened and her ever curious nature finds her on top of the cabinets and having fun playing with our friends 4 year old marauding about pillow forts.

Purrcast is run by donations to our Patreon campaign at http://patreon.com/purrcast. As little as dollar a month gets you the super mega extended mix and other fun extras.

Thank you for listening.
